LPIC 1
Junior Level Linux Certification

This level attests that the professional is able to work with the command line in Linux; perform simple maintenance tasks; execute backup / restore and shutdown / reboot routines; install and configure a desktop including the graphical user interface and LAN or Internet connection.

LPIC 2
Advanced Level Linux Certification

The professional should be able to: administer a small and medium-sized server; implement, plan, maintain, protect and manage a small mixed network (MS, Linux) including LAN Server (samba), Internet Gateway (firewall, proxy, email, news), Internet Server (Web server, FTP); supervise existing teams and be able to recommend implementations and acquisitions.

LPIC 3
Senior Level Linux Certification

Senior Level Linux Certification is the highest level in the certification program attesting that the professional is a Linux expert. An aggregation of LPIC-1, LPIC-2 and LPIC-3 consists of a single major exam.
